    What makes Truman Capote's writing style special?:
    What makes his writing style special is that he developed "new journalism." It brought a cross between literature and journalism, this was new for the 1960's. This book was the first news novel.His writing was't subjective, and he never took a side in the situation given it was a true story.

  2. Alcohol and drug abuse: began abusing after he had published bits of scandalous stories about his friends in magazines. Capote died of liver failure due to his alcoholism.

    - He was openly homosexual in a time it was accepted by artist but rarely talked about
    - Took part in a lot of hobnobbing
    - Dill "To Kill a Mockingbird" was inspired by Truman after being neighbors with the author for many years
    - 5 foot 3 inches

    Born in New Orleans. His parents divorced when he was four, and he lived with his mother's relatives as a child. Taught himself to read and write. Went to live with his mother and stepfather in New York City when he was nine, and took his stepfather's last name, Capote. His stepfather was convicted of embezzlement. Went to military school, and began his writing career with short stories.
